Windows 10 compatible with LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0

LEGO® Education is proud to launch Windows 10 application to support both LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0 on 19th September 2016. The primary feature of the WeDo 2.0 application for Windows 10 is ‘in-app pairing’. In contrast to the Windows 8.1 version, which requires the user to exit the application in order to pair with a Smarthub, the Windows 10 application allows the pairing to take place inside the application.
Since in-app pairing is a significant improvement to the Bluetooth connectivity experience, we should advise all of our consumers using Windows 7/8.1 to upgrade to Windows 10 and install the latest updates (WeDo 2.0 for Windows 10 requires v10.0.10586.420 or above).
In order to access in-app pairing, it is very important that the consumer uninstalls their existing WeDO 2.0 application for Windows 7/8.1 and then installs the Windows 10 version.

We have updated the connection instructions with Windows 10 specific cases where we show a three-step picture instruction instead of the video.

The LEGO Education WeDo 2.0 Windows 10 application allows students to explore science projects including engineering, technology and coding. Incorporating a Project Library with 17 projects, 40 hours of material are included along with a Design Library packed with inspirational materials. Engage curiosity and encourage problem solving by enabling students to investigate and design ideas across a range of science topics.
