Components of the DJI RoboMaster EP Core

Gripper: The gripper turns the RoboMaster EP into a powerful, multi-functional frame. Convenient structural design and adjustable gripping force allow it to firmly and reliably grasp and move objects of various shapes, weights and sizes.

Robotic Arm: The EP's robotic arm is incredibly durable, yet compact and flexible. It supports precise FPV control, allowing students to perform tasks even when target objects are out of sight.

Robot DJI RoboMaster EP Core

High-performance servo: As the propulsion driver for the RoboMaster EP, the servo supports custom control capabilities through the EP's main control board. It ensures minimal gear backlash, high control accuracy and high torque output. It can also power the robotic arm and support DC gear motor mode, allowing students to build lifting structures using their physics knowledge.

Sensor Adaptor and Power Connector Module: each sensor adaptor has two sensor ports and provides a power supply. A power connector module allows for the connection and powering of third-party hardware, providing multiple ports to connect hardware and create custom programs and applications.

Infrared distance sensor: With a measurement range of 0.1 to 10 meters, the infrared distance sensor accurately measures with a 5% margin of error. The addition of programmable modules in Scratch also provides reliable distance measurement information. This allows the PE to detect its environment and avoid obstacles, which helps students better understand the advanced principles of autonomous driving.

DJI Open SDK: Endless programming possibilities are unlocked when you use SDKs (software development kits). The Open DJI SDK is available on the RoboMaster EP and supports over 50 programmable sensor ports. This allows students to use streaming data from sensor modules, video and audio to program AI applications and discover real AI technology.

Streaming video and audio data: streaming HD video and audio data and stabilized images provide greater recognition accuracy. Deep learning projects and features such as data analysis, pattern learning, scene recognition and personalization can be achieved with a third-party platform.

Attitude data: flexibility code for attitude data collected from chassis and gimbal gyroscopes.

Swarm: connect multiple EPs to a computer to perform swarm movements through multi-machine communication.

ToF distance measurement information: distance measurement information provided by the infrared distance sensor enables intelligent obstacle avoidance and accurate multi-machine communication for autonomous driving.

Increased expandability: a customizable expansion platform allows students to build and expand the RoboMaster EP Core as they wish. The EP is also compatible with building blocks, providing even more opportunities for learning and fun.

Compatible third-party hardware: the RoboMaster EP supports open-source third-party hardware such as Micro:bit, Arduino and Raspberry Pi. These components can be connected and powered via serial ports on the main chassis controller. The PE can also perform model learning and scene recognition via AI platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson Nano and DJI's official SDK, allowing students to better understand the principles of how AI works.

Compatible with third-party sensors: the RoboMaster EP is equipped with four sensor adapters, making it easy to connect and power third-party sensors that measure inputs such as temperature, pressure, distance and more. Sensory data can even be used in Scratch, opening up endless programming possibilities. 

Multi-machine communication: Python programming allows multiple units of the RoboMaster EP to communicate and interact with each other in real time.

New Scratch programming blocks: New Scratch programming blocks have been added to the Lab section of the RoboMaster application. They have been designed to help users obtain and use sensory data. With these blocks, users can quickly access and control the sensor adapter, robotic arm, gripper, infrared launcher, infrared depth sensor and open source third-party hardware.

Support for multiple platforms and two programming languages: the RoboMaster app is compatible with the RoboMaster EP and multiple operating systems, including iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac, making it the perfect tool for a wide range of teaching scenarios. The EP supports two programming languages, Scratch 3.0 and Python 3.6, allowing beginners and experts alike to have fun with programming.
