Drone DJI Air 2S: small folding drone with high performance

This DJI Air 2S drone is a direct descendant of the DJI Mavic drones: a lightweight, small foldable drone with sophisticated intelligence features and a camera that can do wonders. When fully unfolded, the DJI Air 2S weighs just 595 grams and measures 18.3 x 25.3 x 7.7 cm. This DJI drone is a worthy successor to the DJI Mavic Air 2, with a better camera, better transmission, improved obstacle avoidance technology and additional creative options.

With a flight time of over 30 minutes, this new DJI drone will satisfy the most demanding image aficionados.

OcuSync 3.0 for 8Km range of Air 2S

The DJI Air 2S drone is equipped with DJI's most advanced O3 (OcuSync 3.0) transmission system:

• Fast, clear and reliable video transmission, regardless of obstacles in its path.
• Returns 1080p video with very little delay (less than 40 milliseconds).
• Both 2.4 and 5.8 GHz frequencies are supported, with reliable automatic communication between the two regardless of conditions.
• The drone has four internal antennas for increased resistance to interference up to a range of 8 kilometers (Please note, the permission in terms of flying distance depends on the current regulations).

The drone is controlled by a remote control provided. It also uses O3 technology to keep the drone connected. The smartphone (iOS or Android) must be attached to the top of the remote, used with the DJI Fly app. This app provides video feedback as well as access to all of the drone's smart settings and functions. DJi recommends a smartphone with dimensions of 180 x 86 x 10 mm.

DJI has included a one-inch CMOS sensor in the camera of the DJI Air 2S drone, with 2.4 micrometer pixels that allow for greater clarity and image quality. As a result, for such a small drone, it will now be possible to film at incredible resolutions:

• 5.4K at 24/25/30 frames per second (5472 x 3078 pixels);
• 4K Ultra HD at 24/25/30/48/50/60 frames per second (3840 x 2160 pixels);
• 2.7K at 24/25/30/48/50/60 frames per second (2688 x 1512 pixels);
• 1080p FullHD at 24/25/30/48/50/60/100 frames per second (1920 x 1080 pixels);
• 20 megapixel photos at 5472 x 3648 pixels in 3:2 and 5472 x 3078 pixels in 16:9.

The camera also allows a consistent zoom up to 8x in 1080p 30ips (and x4 for 4K30ips).

Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems for obstacle avoidance

The sensors will be able to identify where and how far away the obstructions are. APAS 4.0's map design algorithm continuously analyzes the drone's environment.

Obstacles are detected in four directions. By avoiding poles, branches and other tiny obstacles, the obstacle avoidance system helps the drone navigate through a complex environment.

Combined with the drone's automated functions, such as tracking, APAS 4.0 proves to be a useful companion that keeps an eye on the drone and its environment at all times.

Modes of piloting the DJI Air 2S drone

DJI has introduced several semi-automatic settings to help you once again in your shooting:

• Hyperlapses: a series of photos taken over a period of time and combined into a dynamic movie illustrating the influence of time on a place. The Hyperlapse function of the DJI Air 2S offers four different trajectories.
• FocusTrack: FocusTrack is DJI's artificial intelligence that helps you make your shots.
• MasterShots: This is an advanced creation mode that allows you to get the best shots instantly.
• QuickShots: QuickShots are high-speed shots taken by the drone.
